Never do anything by halves if you want to get away with it. Be outrageous. Go the whole hog. Make sure everything you do is so completely crazy it’s unbelievable.
Roald Dahl, Author
Huzzah! It’s Field Trip Friday!
To continue our family-friendly travel theme, this week we will be visiting the village of Great Missenden in Buckinghamshire to take a look at The Roald Dahl Museum and Story Centre! Roald Dahl did a lot in his lifetime; he was a fighter pilot, poet, inventor, and sweets enthusiast. It was in those moments of his life where he gained a lot of inspiration for the books that children everywhere grow up reading. Whether you dreamed of walking into Willy Wonka’s factory or becoming buddies with a friendly giant, Roald Dahl’s stories have sparked the imaginations of children of all ages.
Located in his hometown, this museum was opened in June of 2005. In the museum, visitors can find themselves surrounded by some of Dahl’s most beloved characters such as Willy Wonka, Mr. Fox, and Matilda. Accompanying them are some of Dahl’s work including manuscripts, letters, books filled with his ideas, and more.
So, grab your golden ticket and brace yourself to enter a world full of sneaky foxes and giant peaches! Watch the videos below and take a trip to The Roald Dahl Museum and Story Centre!
