Let’s Visit the Museum of Picture Book Art!

posted on May 5, 2023

Simplify, slow down, be kind. And don’t forget to have art in your life – music, paintings, theater, dance, and sunsets.

Eric Carle, Author

Eric Carle’s books are some of the most beloved children’s books in the world. From works like The Very Hungry Caterpillar and Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?, his illustrations and stories are instantly recognizable and, to most, heartwarming. In 2002, Eric Carle, along with his second wife, founded the first museum devoted to picture book art!

Located in Amherst, Massachusetts, the Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art is dedicated to the international and national art of children’s books. The goal of the museum is to encourage visitors of all backgrounds and age groups to delve into their own creativity! The museum aims to encourage people to see the importance of visual and verbal connection in literature.

Whether you’re 5 years old or 67, you’ll be transported to a colorful world of imagination and creativity! Watch the videos below, and take a trip to The Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art!
